An Inspiring Community
The taste or aroma of coffee has never drawn me to cafes. The purchase of a cup of coffee is merely the price I freely pay to occupy a cafe seat, until I discovered Ren Coffeehouse, a small cafe in St. Philips Plaza, maybe the most picturesque plaza in all Tucson.
There’s more to Ren than good coffee. This cafe works! The staff, service, drinks and foods are exceptional as evidenced by the customer raves. But, I was particularly struck by the easy and efficient rhythm of Ren’s daily operations. It’s different and it’s because of the person behind the coffee house. Lisa Ocker, developer and owner of Ren Coffeehouse is a talent worth knowing. A unique business owner, developer, and manager and honestly, one of the most naturally gifted and competent business owners/operators I’ve encountered. She does business her way and it works.

AN INSPIRING COMMUNITY
Small cafes have been my go-to work spot for most of my adult life. It’s in these cafes with the ambient noise in the background that I find myself most inspired and productive, regardless of the task.
The layered voices, coffee grinders, clanging cups, and assorted music all meld together into a gentle, even stream of white noise. The white noise from the cafe works for me— hence the name WhitenoiseWorks and the inspiration for our WhitenoiseWorks Talent Community.
A long-term vision is to create a larger virtual cafe and invite uniquely talented and skilled people to join me in building a virtual development workspace — a catalyst community.
